"You have set all the borders of the earth; You have made
summer and winter."
Psalms 74

Summer is HERE!!!!!!!

Summer has finally arrived and so has the HOT weather! There are so many fun activities and creative ways to spend your summer. Turn off that television set and get busy.

Outside is the place to be when the thermometer is rising! The summer season provides us with warm weather, a dazzling sun high in the sky and fluffy white clouds. God has blessed us with a season created for outdoor appreciation of all his creations.

God created the sun, the clouds, the oceans, the stars, lightning bugs, lightning, thunder, rain, beaches, animals, watermelons, and even lemons for lemonade.

Enjoy all that God has created for YOU!!!

Did you ever wonder why the sky is blue? Because, God planned it that way!!! If you want to know the scientific explanation of how God created
a blue sky for you to enjoy, read the
Science Made Simple explanation.

His name shall endure forever; His name shall continue as long as the sun. And men shall be blessed in Him; All nations shall call Him blessed. Psalms 72:17

What is the sun?

The sun is the closest star to Earth. The Sun is a huge mass of hot, glowing gas. The strong gravitational pull of the Sun holds Earth and the other planets in the solar system in orbit. The Sun's light and heat influence all of the objects in the solar system and allow life to exist on Earth.

The movement of the Sun across the sky marks the passage of time during the day. See a picture of a sundial!

At night, reflected sunlight makes the moon and planets bright in the night sky.

The Sun provides Earth with vast amounts of energy every day.

A person should never look directly at the Sun,
even with sunglasses

The Sun is large and massive compared to the other objects in the solar system. The Sun's radius (the distance from its center to its surface) is 695,508 km (432,169 mi), 109 times as large as Earth's radius. If the Sun were hollow, a million Earths could fit inside it.

From Earth the Sun looks small, because it is far away. Its average distance from Earth is 150 million km (93 million mi). Light from the Sun takes about eight minutes to reach Earth.

Earth would not have any life on it without the Sun's energy, which reaches Earth in the form of heat and light. This energy warms our days and illuminates our world. Green plants absorb sunlight and convert it to food, which these plants then use to live and grow. In this process, the plants give off the oxygen that animals breathe. Animals eat these plants for nourishment. All plant and animal life relies on the Sun's presence.

The Sun's gravitational pull holds the solar system together. The planets, asteroids, comets, and dust that make up our solar system are strongly attracted to the Sun's huge mass. This gravitational attraction keeps these bodies in orbit around the Sun. Microsoft's Encarta Online

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten
Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life.
John 3:16

There is a SON that shines brighter than even the sun of our solar system. This SON is the Son of God, Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that Jesus came to Earth to provide a way for YOU to enter Heaven someday and live with Him forever.

Heaven is a very real place and all those who believe in Jesus and ask Him to save them will go to Heaven someday. You can learn all about Heaven and Jesus by reading your Bible.

Did you know that Jesus, the SON of God loves YOU very much!!! He wants you to come and live in Heaven with Him someday.

God makes it easy to go to Heaven. A lot of people think that you get to Heaven by being a very good person and by going to church. Going to church is a good thing and so is being a good person, but that is NOT how you get into Heaven.

To go to Heaven someday, all you have to do is SAY to Jesus that you are a sinner and not a perfect person. The Bible tells us that EVERYONE is a sinner. BELIEVE that Jesus died on the cross for YOU! Did you know that if you were the only person alive that Jesus still would have died for just YOU!!! He loves you very much. Then you have to tell God that you are SORRY for all the bad things that you have done and promise to try not to do them anymore. You do not have to be perfect, but you need to try and follow God's word which is found in the Bible.

If you do these things, then you are SAVED! You and everyone else who believes in Jesus now will someday spend forever with Jesus in Heaven!

Get to know the SON that shines brighter than even the sun!!!
