* * * Make A Flag * * *

Supplies Needed:
Large Rectangular Piece of White Paper
Red, White & Blue Paints
Paint Brushes OR Fingers
Sponges - Cut into star shapes

  • Paint a blue square into the upper left corner of your white paper. Allow to dry.

  • Dip sponges into white paint and place stars into the blue square.

  • With fingers or brushes, paint red stripes for your patriotic flag.

You can turn this project into a placemat easily by covering with clear contact paper after drying.

* * * Firework Fun * * *

Supplies Needed:
Black construction poaper
Brightly colored paints, glitter paints
Straw

  • Drop tiny amounts of paint onto black paper

  • Blow with straw to create firework display

* * * T- Shirt Sponge Art * * *

Supplies Needed:
White pre-shrunk t-shirt
Red, White & Blue Fabric Paints
Star shaped sponges, stripe shaped sponges
Number 4 sponge

  • Dip sponges into paint and create a fantastic fourth
    t-shirt. Create a flag shape or your own 4th of July design.

* * * Festive 4th Necklace * * *

Supplies Needed:
Red, white or blue yarn
Red, white or blue beads, stars, etc.
OR
Painted macaroni beads
OR
Construction cut outs - stars

  • String beads, stars etc. onto yarn. Use a hole punch for construction art.

* * * 4th of July Tablecloth * * *

Supplies Needed:
White tablecloth
Posterboard cut out stars - various sizes
Red and blue crayons

  • Put shapes underneath tablecloth and rub crayons over shapes to create a 4th of July keepsake. Have each family member using a permanent marker describe what independence means to them. Sign and
    date.

* * * Fireworks Scene* * *

Supplies Needed:
Baby food jars
Mineral Water
Glitter
Corn Syrup
Tiny plastic stars & glittery objects
Little plastic flag
Glue

  • Combine one teaspoon corn syrup and a cup of mineral water.

  • Use the glue and stick the flag to the lid of the jar.

  • Next, put the glitter inside the jar.

  • Pour water and corn syrup mixture into the jar but leave a little room a t the top.

  • Put lid on jar - VERY TIGHTLY!!!

  • To create your fireworks display, shake gently and place upsdie down. Enjoy!!!
